Helpful Tips as We Move Into the Holiday Season

Open for BusinessThe holiday season is fast approaching. Though the holidays can be a very busy time, it is not unusual for small businesses to experience a slowdown in both traffic and revenue. We compiled a few tips to help businesses navigate through the season.

  • Keep Your Clients Informed Of Any Changes to Your Hours – The last thing you want is a customer showing up fifteen minutes after you close. Or, imagine a customer going somewhere else because they think you are closed when in reality, you have extended your hours due to the holiday season. Keep customers informed of your current hours online by immediately publishing any changes to your hours on your website, Google My Business listing, Facebook, and Yelp.

Happy Independence Day 2020

As we reflect on what it means to be an American this Independence Day, we would like to take this opportunity to share our gratitude for the brave men and women in America’s history that fought for our freedom. We are proud to be an American small business and grateful for your ongoing support. In honor of Independence Day, we will be closed Friday, July 3rd. We hope you and your loved ones have a safe and restful holiday!

Small Business Owners Beware – Bogus Google My Business Ownership Requests Coming In

Google My BusinessIf you own a small business, you most likely have a Google My Business (GMB) listing. Although these listings are an essential part of your keeping your customers updated on your location, hours, and any other relevant information, they can potentially open you up to risk.

We have noticed several bogus ownership requests coming through in recent weeks. If you were to grant ownership to someone you don’t know, the new owner will have the ability to remove you from being an owner of your own GMB listing. They could change the information on your listing causing confusion for your clients. Additionally, if you create a new listing with all your correct information, it can be very difficult to get the old, inaccurate listing taken down if you no longer have ownership access. And to make matters even worse, you will not be able to take your reviews with you to the new listing.

Luckily, GMB will never allow ownership to anyone without your permission. Anytime someone requests ownership, you will receive an email asking for permission to grant that person access. If you deny access, the person will NOT have ownership of your account. The moral of the story here is, do not allow anyone you do not trust to access your GMB account. If you have any questions about this information or anything else pertaining to the online presence of your small business, contact us today for a free consultation.

Coronavirus Update from Lineberry Marketing

With Coronavirus impacting lives and economies around the world, we wanted to communicate with you how we are handling the situation here at Lineberry Marketing.

We will continue serving our clients as normal during our regular hours of operation; Monday – Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. We don’t anticipate any changes to this given that we work remotely. We will be suspending all in-person meetings at least through the end of March. For those of you who we are scheduled for an in-person meeting, we will be reaching out in the next day with an invite to teleconference instead.

As a small business owner, I share many of the same concerns as all of you reading this post. I do have a high level of confidence that the economy will rebound in quick fashion when this is over. Making sure your company is found in the search engines is going to be even more important to make up for any lost revenues.

Stay well, help others, wash your hands and be optimistic.
