World Down Syndrome Day 2023

March 21st is celebrated annually as World Down Syndrome Day. Why? The date of 3/21 signifies the 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome that causes Down syndrome. Plus, it’s a great excuse to celebrate such an awesome group of individuals that add so much to our communities, schools and society.

Supporting individuals with DS and their families is near and dear to our hearts. Owner of Lineberry Marketing, Jeff Lineberry, has a daughter with Down syndrome and also serves as the Vice President of the NC Down Syndrome Alliance. The mission of the NCDSA is to “To empower, connect, and support the lifespan of individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community through outreach, advocacy, and education in North Carolina.”

Today, let’s remember that no matter our ability or disability, we all have value and that by supporting each other, we can make the world a better and more accepting place.
